ELIGIBILITY
-
Anesthesia Residents, Medical Students with an interest in Anesthesiology, and LSA Members.
-
Residents and Medical Students must be in a residency/fellowship training program or medical school in the state of Louisiana.

One of the abstract authors must be a member of the Louisiana Society of Anesthesiologists.
-
All entries should represent original work done by the contestant while training in the state of Louisiana.

You may submit more than one abstract, but only the highest scoring will be accepted.

Word Limit: (not counting abstract title, author string, or table/figure) must not exceed 250 words for the entire abstract

Tables must not contain more than five columns or ten rows.

ASA Disclosure Form
In accordance with the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) guidelines, all named authors must complete a disclosure form during the submission process to disclose all financial relationships with any commercial interest. This must be completed by Sunday, October 26, 2026, or we will not accept your abstract. The link to send your authors is below.
PRESENTATION
The LSA Program Committee will decide the presentation format for each accepted abstract.

Podium presentation: 5-minute presentation (3-minute presentation with 2-minute discussion)

e-Poster presentation: 3-minute presentation within the e-Poster Session
We encourage a faculty representative from the lead author’s program must be present at the annual meeting to support the resident or medical student.

The Louisiana Society of Anesthesiology is pleased to release the 2027 Annual Meeting Agenda, featuring a thoughtfully curated program for anesthesiologists at every stage of practice. This year’s meeting combines high-quality clinical education, leadership development, and interactive discussions on professional, legal, and practice-management topics impacting anesthesiology today. Attendees will engage in abstract presentations, expert-led sessions, and dynamic table discussions designed to foster meaningful conversation and connection. Registration is now open, and we invite you to join colleagues from across the state for a collaborative and energizing LSA 2027 Annual Meeting.

This activity has been planned and implemented in accordance with the accreditation requirements and policies of the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) through the joint providership of the American Society of Anesthesiologists and the Louisiana Society of Anesthesiologists. The American Society of Anesthesiologists is accredited by the ACCME to provide continuing medical education for physicians.

The American Society of Anesthesiologists designates this live activity for a maximum of (TBA) AMA PRA Category 1 Credit(s)™. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

Invitation to Exhibit & Support
This meeting is a wonderful opportunity to showcase your company before physician anesthesiologists, residents, and medical students from Louisiana. Approximately 75-80 physician anesthesiologists attend the meeting each year. The fee to exhibit starts at $2,000. New this year the opportunity to be the Surgical Skills reception sponsor or the Jeopardy Award dinner sponsor as part of the Platinum Sponsorship.
Meeting Format
The meeting will take place in-person
Exhibit Hall
The tabletop exhibits will be in the pre-function space outside of the Patron Ballroom. Beverages and breaks will be placed in the Exhibit area. Exhibits will be open all day, on Saturday but most traffic will be during breaks.
